How to do Plaster in your own:
But if there is a small area that you want to plaster as for small space you don’t want to spend much money, then here are few tips that will help you to know how you could plaster a wall yourself. First of all, it is always suggested to try to do a plaster in a small built in wardrobe or any utility cupboard or room. Once you decided the place, you need to get your tools and materials to do the plaster. You need a plaster towel, mixing drill bit, hawk, couple of buckets, plaster, 5 inch paint brush, PVA adhesive and plastic sheeting. Such set of tools may be little costly but if you have a set of these tools, and then you can use it again in future. Put on some work clothes and sheet up around the area where you will do the plaster. Mix 1 part PVA with 2 parts water in a bucket. Apply it to the wall. Wait for this to go tacky to touch. Apply second coat then. When it is tacky, add plaster to water. Now, after mix up, it will start to chemically set.
Apply first coat by using hawk and trowel. Try to flatten it. Now, try the second coat in a thinner way. Again wait for stiffen up before trowel. Do the process at least 5 times with the trowel and use a little bit water over it on the last time. It will give the plaster a niche finishing touch for painting. Clean up the tools otherwise the plaster will stick to the tools.
Now, your wall is ready to go for the painting or colour.
