Disc Pumps Company

Disc Pumps Company

Disc Pump technology is a unique non-impingement method of pumping using the patented Discpac impeller. Disc Pumps have proven very successful in slashing operating costs, preventing damage and prolonging pump life to emulsions and delicate product. Disc Pump is manly providing high reliability, extremely long life and peace of mind pumping for various industries including phosphate, municipal, pulp and paper, food, waste resources, power generation and general industry.

The Disc Pump has the appearance of a centrifugal unit but it can perform the work not only of centrifugals but also progressive cavity pumps, gear pumps and lobe. It can easily handle the flow rate from 2 to 10,000 GPM [2250 m3/h] and heads up to 1000ft [300m].
Operations:

Disc Pumps can operate on the principles of Boundary Layer and Viscous Drag. The application of these principles is new in the world of pumps but widely used in other areas also such as fluid engineering including causing friction loss through a piping system. Under the laminar flow conditions, streams of liquid travel at different velocities through the pipe with the layer closest to the pipe being stationary which is also known as Boundary Layer and successive fluid layers flowing faster towards the center of the pipe.

In the same manner, when a fluid enters the disc pump, a boundary layer is formed on the surface of the Discpac, where a series of parallel discs can form the pumping mechanism. As the discs rotate, energy can be transferred to successive layers of molecules in the fluid between the discs via the Viscous Drag Principle, generating velocity and pressure gradients across the width of the Discpac. Thus, the combination of the Boundary Layer and Viscous Drag ultimately give results if a powerful force which can pulls the product through the pimp in a smoother way with pulsation free flow.

The fluid which is getting pumped is then moves parallel to the Discpac, so it does not intrude on the moving parts of the pump. It is that type of Non-Impingement and gentle Pull Through pumping action that can distinguishes the Disc Pump from other pump systems on the market, all of which use some kind of impingement device to push product through the pump.

Why Choose: Due to its successful use in the wide range of industrial area including Municipal Water/Wastewater, oil and Petrochemical, Chemical Processing, Steel Manufacturing, food & Beverage industries, Phosphate Mining and Specialty Applications, we are providing the facilities to all the Disc Pump manufacturers, companies, dealers and suppliers to list your business on our website so that customers and industries can get in touch with you directly.
