How To Decide And Choose The Right BE College For Yourself?
Indians have a special affinity towards engineering since ages. But the ordeal of finding the right engineering college can be a nightmare without proper guidance. However the burning question still remains – How to choose the one right college for you from some thousands of engineering college spread across the country. What are the parameters that separate the one college from other?
- The Infrastructure of the College: A good infrastructure doesn’t mean a swanky building. It should have good spacious modern classrooms, hostels, canteens, labs, workshops etc.
- The Faculty: A college without a good faculty is useless. You must check the list of faculty, their qualifications and experience before deciding on a college.
- The Placement Record: The most important part for Indian students is Placements. A detail study of the previous year placement record along with the quality of the hiring companies should be looked into.
- Accreditations: All engineering colleges must have affiliation from AICTE. There are also some colleges who are affiliated to the state board and some foreign university. If they are affiliated to some foreign university, do check the credibility of the university rather than blindly opting the college due to the vanity of a foreign university.
- Facilities – The College should have state of the art facilities like electronic classrooms, library, well equipped labs, workshops, accommodation facilities etc.
- Industry Exposure – The industrial training hold a paramount place in today’s curriculum. A great session of industrial training with a reputed organization may land you up with a good pre placement offer and valuable experience.
- Location – This is not a very important factor but a college with closer proximity to software hubs and industrial parks have some advantages for industrial training and placements.
- Fees: Although the fees of BE colleges have been made uniform by state or central government. Some private colleges charge higher fees due to their infrastructure and quality of faculty. Do keep in mind that the average placement package should be in accordance with the total fees of your course.
